Home Learning
Home Learning
As a school, we recognise that attitudes towards homework can differ between households and we hope to seek a healthy balance when setting tasks and activities.
The schools end goal for all pupils is to have had opportunity to achieve the 3 primary elements of Academic Excellence, Aspirational Mind-set & Personal Development. Home learning and learning beyond the classroom plays an important role in this.
Academic Excellence
(Requirement)
Knowledge & Skill development
Each pupil will receive a high quality workbook for Mathematics, Reading and Writing Skills (GAPs). Class teachers will set out the pages students need to do each week (see year group pages). This work will reflect the learning your child has been doing in school.
Reading Fluency
As well as this, we offer an online reading record for you and your child, and ask that reading is recorded 5 times a week outside of school.
BoomReader — The Digital Reading Record (go-read.co.uk)
Teachers and Staff also use this app so you can see how many times your child is reading 1:1 with an adult.
Mathematics Fluency
All students have access to the TTRockstars app to help your child develop fluency skills in multiplication and division through regular practice.
We expect all students to be using this 5 times a week for 5 minutes at a time.
