PE & Sports Premium

What is Sports Premium?
In April 2013 the Government announced new funding to all state maintained schools to assist with the delivery, opportunity and availability of sport and PE. Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they have the freedom to choose how they do this. 

Provision
PE and sport play a very important part in the development of the students at Birchwood Junior School. Our PE curriculum, including after school and lunch clubs, offer a wide range of sports and activities to support the health, wellbeing and fitness of our pupils.

We have made good use of the PE and sports premium funding to assist with the delivery, opportunity and availability of sport and PE to all of our students.
