Our School Day
The school day starts at 8:30am and finishes at 3:30pm. The children arrive by the double gates near the Youth Centre and make their way onto the playground where they will line up in their classes ready for collection by their class teacher.
Each day has an assembly where children learn about the value or theme of the week, discover current events and festivals, celebrate and share their learning.
Play time and lunchtime staff are trained to support children’s play. There are a wide range of activities for children to enjoy, such as skipping, reading, drawing, sports and table tennis. Each year group has a separate playtime and/or a separate area of the playground to play in.
During lesson time, the curriculum is taught across the school week building on skills and knowledge.
At the end of the school day, the children are taking by their class teacher out through the side gate near the Youth Centre and will line up in their class. Parents/Carers are asked not to cross over the yellow line to ensure safeguarding procedures are followed. Once staff identify the adult they are going home with, they will then be released. Parents/carers, you will need to give written permission to allow you child to walk home from school. Please send this in via email, parentmail or letter format.
