More Able Provision
At Birchwood Junior School, we aim to create aspirational learners who can go on to achieve, discover and challenge themselves long after leaving our doors. Further to this is an understanding that we must set high expectations for all pupils, including those children who achieve at a Greater Depth within Key Stage 1.
More Able Learners are defined as those who have abilities in one or more subjects in the statutory school curriculum. They have the capacity for, or demonstrate, high levels of performance in a subject area.
In order to ensure that these pupils continue to develop their skills and knowledge at an appropriate pace, our curriculum and school experience offers these children a variety of different learning opportunities before, within and beyond the classroom.
